Kellie Update

So as you all know, Kellie was thrown from a horse while in Moab. The accident happened Tuesday evening as she was out riding with some friends. She was on the horse with Enoch and Katrina's daughter Tyana and they were both thrown from the horse. A gal who lives at the Rock is a nurse so she was able to check them over and help them with their injuries. Kellie's shoulder popped out part way, but it slipped back in on its own, her right knee was pretty swollen and sore and she could hardly walk on it. Tyana was injured too, and her parents wanted to bring her up to Salt Lake so Enoch's mom, Carla, could check her over, so Kellie was able to catch a ride up with them.
Kellie said as she was crawling away from the horse as fast as she could, trying to keep from getting stomped on, she felt like a bone in her knee was poking out one way and then the other, whick made no sense at all until we took her in for an xray. We found out that her knee cap had been mostly torn from the ligaments on one side. The Dr. said that at some point the knee cap was probably over on one side of her knee. Yikes! Even now it is not where it should be. Anyway, she is going in on Monday morning to see a knee specialist and she will probably get a special knee brace that will hold the knee cap in place until it heals. Hopefully she won't have to have surgury.
Kellie is laid up and spends all day with her leg elevated. She is still in quite a bit of pain, and is pretty bored. Lydia is enjoying being Kellie's special nurse, and is hovering around her waiting on her and getting her anything she wants and needs. She has even been taking the phone with her, and she told Kellie to call her if she needs her for anything . ( She is so cute!)

One Cute Pic!

Just had to post this picture. It is too cute!

Boys Night

Matthew's boys night was a big success! All the boys had a lot of fun. Daniel, Jake, Josh, Jared, and Matthew played video games for hours, and munched on lots of goodies. They had homemade chocolate, chocolate chip cookies that Matthew made that were awesome! They also had Doritos, Tootsie Rolls, and Oatmeal Pies. For a late night snack they had hot-dogs and lemonade. After they had played video games til there brains were fried they all came upstairs and fell asleep watching TV .

The bowling was a lot of fun. We took Matthew, Lydia, Kaitlyn, and Alexia. It was supposed to be just for the little girls, but since very few were going, I decided to take Matthew too. Everyone had a good time, especially Ally. She would get the most excited when she knocked down the pins. She would throw her hands in the air and squeel, like she had just done the most amazing thing, then she would run around like she just had to find someone to share all her excitement with. I think Kaitylyn and Lydia found the hamburgers and french fries a little more interesting than the bowling at times, but they still had fun too. Matthew got the highest score, which he was pretty proud of. After we finished bowling we all went and sat up to the snack bar and had icecream. A great way to finish!

Boys Night

I am doing a boys night at my house on Friday night for Matty and his friends. They are going to have a video game night. We were going to do a camp-out but it is supposed to rain so we had to change our plans. Video games should be fun. That with a bunch of munchies and everyone will be happy.

Little Girls Day Out

Darlene has set up a day for the little girls to go bowling in Heber City. We will be going tomorrow at 11:00. There is a nice little bowling alley over there with great food. So far it will be Lydia, Kaitlyn, and Ally. Maybe Nicky and Brittney will go too. Should be a lot of fun.

Octoberfest is coming up fast. This year I am trying to take my kids to Snowbird for one day , and to Midway for Swiss Days for one day. I haven't been to Swiss Days for years. Darlene went last year and she said it was a lot of fun, so I thought we would go try it.

School Starts

Eliza and Daniel started school this week on Monday. Rachel and Matthew are starting school tomorrow to follow the same schedule as their friends in public school. Eliza has been doing school for three days and she told me that she is already sick of it. Looks like its going to be a long year:)

Education Week at BYU

I am going with my mother tomorrow down to BYU for one day of Education Week. I am looking forward to a day of taking classes and not having any responsibilities other than trying to be to a class on time. The cost for one day is $24.00, but you can go for the entire week for only $62.00. There are all kinds of classes from religion to dance. They also have youth classes for teen-agers. You can choose whatever classes you want to take. They run from 8:30 in the morning until about 8:00 at night. There are also plays and musical performances in the evenings and a big dance on Friday night at the end of the week. I have never gone for more than one day, but I think it would be fun to do the entire week and all the performances as well.

Dad's and Aaron's New Boat

Dad and Aaron went in together and bought a boat. The kids are all excited and can't wait to go out on it and have some fun! It will be great for cruising, fishing, or water skiiing. It should be tons of fun!

Hill AirForce Base Museum

Dad took the kids up to the Hill Air Force Base Museum. The old Airplanes are awesome to see. The kids all thought it was super cool!

Home Grown Eggs

Rachel's pullets are finally producing eggs, so we are getting 6 - 8 per day which is more than we can use. If you would like to buy some for $2.00 a dozen let Rachel or me know. Check out the picture of the cool pullet eggs. When they start laying the eggs are real small at first. ( Marie thought thought that was very unfair : )

Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake for Kellie's birthday. It was a fun day. The weather was awesome, the lake was beautiful and everyone had a great time. We all spent the day swimming, sunbathing and getting sunburned. Natalie and Eliza got burned the worst. Lydia, Matthew and Josh had fun digging for sea-shells that I brought and planted in the sand for them. Then Lydia burried Matthew up to his neck and turned him into a "Treeant". (That's what he called it) Too bad its not closer so we can go more often.

My Birthday

I had a great birthday! It was fun having everyone come up and spend the day with me. I especially loved all the little gifts from the grand-kids, the looks on their faces when they gave them to me, letting the kids help me make a birthday cake, and when the kids sang Happy Birthday to me. Birthdays just don't get better than that!

Best Fishin Hole for Kids

Yes, I think I have found the best fishing hole for kids. It is at the Wasatch State Park in Midway. There is a beautiful pond where kids under 14 can fish without a license. There is grass on one side where you can set up your lawn chairs. There are picnic tables and a visitors center where kids can go in and use the restroom. There is also a playground for the kids to play on after they get tired of fishing. Best of all the pond is well stocked with fish! We went today and Rachel caught five. It was the first time she had caught a fish after going fishing at least 3 times, so she was very excited! (Unlike Matthew who was pretty bummed cuz he didn't catch any:) Lydia didn't fish much, but she made some new friends and ran all over the grass, played on the playground and fed the ducks. What a great way to spend a morning!

The latest craze to hit the Lou Kelsch Family is fishing. Dad is setting everyone up with poles and tackle. Even the littlest kids have their own poles and are having a great time. Sometimes when the fishing is slow the kids get a little bored, but they usually entertain themselves by catching crawdads, and eating all the munchies. Lydia caught her first fish the other day and so did Kyana. Rachel and Kellie each caught some crawdads. The kids are all learning some new words and phrases, like: tackle, powerbait, real it in, cast it out, and snag:) So lets go fishin!

Splash Park

We have a splash park in Kimball Junction! It is so nice to have a place that is fun for the kids that is close by and free. It is a great place for the kids to burn off some energy and cool down on a hot day. The kids love it!

Birthday BBQ

We are having a BBQ on Sunday for my Birthday. Everyone should bring their own meat and a potluck to share. Darlene is in charge of lining everything up, so if you have any questions get with her. Hope to see you then:)

24th Camp-out

The 24th Camp-out was a lot of fun. There were games, and bbq's, campfires and sleeping in tents. Of course the kids seemed to have the most fun, but the adults had a good time too.
